Defender Joel Ekstrand has been called up to face Argentina in an international friendly next week.
The 23 year-old centre-back has been called up by Sweden boss Erik Hamren as part of his squad to face La Albiceleste on February 6 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Sweden will come up against the likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria and Gonzalo Higuain.
Ekstrand has been in imperious form for Gianfranco Zola’s Hornets after breaking into the side, making 15 npower Championship appearances for the Hornets.
The Lund-born defender has one Sweden cap to date – won in a 1-1 draw with Syria in 2010 – part of Sweden’s annual tour with Swedish Allsvenskan League-based players.
Fellow defender Lee Hodson has also been called up by Northern Ireland.
The right-back, on-loan at Brentford, is part of the Gawa’s squad for their friendly with Malta next week in Valletta.
