Pervis Estupinan is ‘close to joining Watford’ but Troy Deeney isn’t going anywhere in the midst of rumoured interest from Tottenham with him previously linked with Arsenal and Premier League Champions Leicester.

Firstly as far as the 18-year-old Ecuadorian left back, who is also capable of playing in midfield, is concerned Sky sources are of the understanding this move will be wrapped up shortly on a permanent basis.

Initially it was claimed his move would be on loan via our owners other club Udinese with them signing him Liga de Quito who sold him to the Italian club earlier this week but now it’s said he’s coming (permanently) directly from the Ecuadorian based club?

Should he be confirmed he’ll become our second signing of the summer, and first under Walter Mazzarri, after the signing of Jerome Sinclair from Liverpool.

As for the Deeney claims as much as chief executive Scott Duxbury has previously told WD Sport a player would only go if they ‘wanted to go,’ which would simply see us bring in someone else, as the Watford captain doesn’t want to leave and is settled where he is this speculation about a move to Spurs are expected to be well wide of the mark.
