Sean Dyche refused to exclusively blame the linesman who failed to flag against Scott McDonald as he bagged the winner at Middlesbrough yesterday evening.

The Hornets’ boss did bring up the decision which cost his side two points however.

Speaking to The Official Site, Dyche said:

‘Linesmen have got a hard job.

‘It’s a tough task, but we’ve been let down today.

‘We started slowly and were on the back foot from the off, but I felt we then got a foothold and settled things down.

‘But in trying to ruffle their feathers after half-time, I didn’t feel we offered enough threat to the opposition’s goal.’

With international football taking centre stage now, it’s 10 days without a fixture for the ‘Orns. A hard slog on the training ground is required…
