It’s testament to the Hornet’s illustrious Academy setup and youth coaches that yet another two home-grown talents have passed landmarks for the club this weekend.

The Sheffield Wednesday game saw stand-in skipper Adrian Mariappa notch up his 100th league appearance as a Hornet having made his debut against Notts County in 2005. His debut was impressive at left full back and he has gone from strength to strength since then playing all the way across the back four and in midfield. The Harrow born defender marked the appearance with his first goal.

Also, Ross Jenkins, who hobbled off after 18 minutes, recorded his 50th Watford appearance despite only making his debut roughly a year ago.

Congratulations to both and here’s hoping there’s many more to come.
