Hornet’s favourite Lloyd Doyley has this afternoon agreed a one-year contract extension.

The versatile defender had been due to run out of contract next summer but has today signed up for another season with the Goldeboys until 2013.

Doyley recently made his 300th appearance for the club, cementing his place as the most experienced Hornet at the club currently.

The 28 year-old told the Official Site of his delight at extending his deal:

‘I’ve (sic) grateful for getting the extra year on my contract.

‘I’ve been here for 10 years now and I’m looking forward to the future with the club.

‘Watford is in my heart and it is good to still be here and watching the club progress.’

The Whitechapel-born full-back made his ‘Orns bow in 2001 against Birmingham City and despite playing under six managers Doyley remains a constant as he enters his testimonial year.

Congratulations Lloyd!
