The Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday-Tuesday pattern is in full-swing now so Watford have just 48 hours to clear their heads before travelling to Selhurst Park on Tuesday night to take on struggler’s Crystal Palace.

George Burley’s side currently sit rock-bottom of the N.Power Championship with just eleven points and three wins to their name.

Following last seasons narrow escape the Eagles appointed former Ipswich, Southampton, Derby and Scotland gaffer George Burley as manager however the Scot has suffered a torrid start.

A number of players left and so a revolving door policy has been in use at Selhurst over the Summer with a number of his former Ipswich charges moving to South London. Equally a number of loanees have joined the Eagles on a temporary basis. Only five may feature in the match day squad so at least one of the following will miss out.

Loanees:

James Vaughan – Everton

Jonathan Obika – Tottenham Hotspur

Pablo Counago – Ipswich Town

Alex Marrow – Blackburn Rovers

Anthony Gardner – Hull City

Julian Bennett – Nottingham Forest

Crystal Palace Team News:

Influential midfielder’s Neil Danns and Darren Ambrose were both back in the starting eleven for the defeat by Middlesbrough at the weekend so both look likely to start on Tuesday.

Starting XI Vs. ‘Boro: Speroni; Clyne, McCarthy, Barrett, Wright; Danns, Garvan, Marrow, Ambrose; Counago and Vaughan.

Key Player – Darren Ambrose:

The former Charlton, Ipswich and Newcastle midfielder enjoyed his most prolific season in front of goal last season striking 23 times in total, with 16 of those coming in the league. Joined the Eagles on a free transfer from rivals Charlton following their relegation. Ambrose worked with gaffer Burley at his first club, Ipswich Town.
