A very bold statemnt from Tom Cleverley today as the Manchester United youngster has declared himself ready for the demands of the Premier League, not only that, but the Red Devils first team none-the-less!

All this from a man that’s only man 23 career league starts – and only another five from the bench. Admittedly though the twenty-year old has been impressive during his Hornet’s loan spell, which he recently confirmed he’d be more than happy to extend.

‘Yeah I think I’m ready for the Premier League,’ he said. ‘I’ve been watching the games and I don’t think United have hit their best form.

‘And I look at the people playing in my best position and think, why not? I think I could step up.’
Clever Tom told Sky Sports News.

The former Leicester loan man went on to confirm his confidence in the Hornet’s chances of reaching the Championship Play Off’s:

‘I’m sending out a message to Manchester United and with performances like that, Watford can send out a message to the rest of the league,’

‘We can get into the play-off mix if we keep performing like that.’
He added.

It seems unlikely the Basingstoke winger will be making his Red Devils bow any time soon though, however ineffectual Nani and Valencia look! Still there’s no harm in aiming high.
