Former Watford midfielder Johan Cavalli has signed for rock bottom Belgian Division 1 side Mons after he left Vicarage Road with just 3 Premiership appearances to his name.

Pint sized Cavelli joined the Hornets on a 18-month deal from French side Istres in last season`s January sales and made his Watford debut in an away win at West Ham but gaffer Aidy Boothroyd saw fit to release him just 6 months into his contract.

The 26 year old Frenchman will now join up with one-time Watford trialist and former Newcastle and Everton left back Alessandro Pistone as well as ex Wolves and Coventry City frontman Cedric Roussel in a Mons squad that sit adrift at the foot of the Jupiler league table.
