Carlisle United manager Greg Abbott says he is hopeful that the Cumbrians former striker Danny Graham will move on for a big fee this summer.

The sale of the 27-goal forward would ‘make things happen’ for the League One side.

Speaking to BBC Sport Abbott said:

‘There’s one proven goalscorer at the top of my list, who will be expensive.

If Danny Graham gets sold, that will make that one affordable.’

‘Maybe a few other clubs might get involved now QPR have shown their hand, and the fee might end up being bigger, which does affect the type of player we go after.

‘The money if Danny did go would make things happen.’

Malky Mackay is surely in a similar position as money seems unlikely to be made available for transfers unless Graham moves on for a large fee.
