Identical footballing twins David and Dean Holdsworth both made moves into non-league club management yesterday after hanging up their playing boots for good.

And it really was a case of ‘out with the old and in with the new` as the pair of former Watford apprentices both ousted other former Hornet players in the hot seats at their new clubs.

Centre back David, who wracked up more than 300 games in Watford colours before moving on to Sheff United and Birmingham City, has replaced former Watford loanee (and Nottingham Forest striker) Nigel Jemson as boss of Unibond Premier Division side Ilkeston Town.

Brother Dean, who found fame with Wimbledon, Bolton and reality TV (!?!), has taken up the gaffers role at Newport County in the Conference South – an appointment that saw former Watford striker Peter Beadle leave Spytty Park.

VitalWatford wish both brothers good luck in their new roles.
