Cardiff eye Derby day at Watford

Cardiff boss Dave Jones wants his Bluebirds to sting the Hornets with the same ferocity that saw them ram it right up Derby in midweek ? rather than see his troops float around like butterflies as they did at Hillsborough the week before.

Watford will face a Cardiff side quite rightly dubbed as “Jekyll & Hyde” by the local Welsh rags at Vicarage Road tomorrow – and won`t know which personality will turn up.

A 6-1 demolition of Derby on Tuesday (with former Hornet loanee, Michael Chopra netting 4) was the first win in 6 attempts for Dave Jones` men in a run that had seen 5 defeats previously.

In fact, Jones himself admitted “It`s no good doing what we did at Derby County and then performing like we did in the second half at Sheffield Wednesday”

Watford`s fresh faced Academy-led backline might take some comfort that Ross McCormack is still sidelined but there`s plenty of attacking threat in the Bluebirds to expose any Demerit/Cathcart sized hole in the Hornets defence.

And Jones is definitely eyeing another goal fest at Vicarage Road. He told Wales Online “we need to reach that level and tempo at Championship level now?we have to put a run together starting at Watford tomorrow”

The Bluebirds gaffer added “that win against Derby will do the player`s confidence no harm at all?”

Which we are guessing isn`t music to the ears of Mssrs Mariappa, Bennett, Oshodi, Hodson and Doyley!!!!
