Due to ongoing public unrest, tonight’s tie between Bristol Rovers and Watford at the Memorial Ground will not be going ahead.

The game was called off earlier today and due to trouble in Bristol last night which has led to a strain on police resources.

A statement read:

“Police had concerns about the access route in and out of the ground, and supporters having to go through Stokes Croft – one of the main areas where the disturbances have taken place.”

The tie has been re-arranged for August 23 and coach tickets will be re-usable for that date. Match tickets had not been sold in advance.

Meanwhile, in other aggro-related matters, a statement by the Premier League and Football League will be released by the end of the working day tomorrow, regarding weekend fixtures.
