Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has become the second of the club’s out-of-contract players to sign fresh terms, committing to three more years.

Bond, 20, has signed a three-year extension to his Hornet’s contract – due to expire next week – and will now remain in WD18 until 2016.

The highly-rated Hemel Hempstead-born ‘keeper made his first-team breakthrough last term, making seven Championship starts for Watford deputising for the injured Manuel Almunia.

A Welsh Under-17 and Under-19 international, Bond also made a further two appearances in cup competitions, featuring against both Bradford City and Manchester City.

Speaking to the official site, technical director Gian Luca Nani endorsed Bond’s new deal: “Jonathan is a very good goalkeeper and has a great future ahead of him, so it`s fantastic that he`s agreed a new contract.’
