Rookie Hornet’s goalkeeper Jonathan Bond has been handed a shock first call-up to the full Welsh side for the Euro 2012 Qualifiers against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

Cartaker Wales coach Brian Flynn was previously in charge of the countries youth setup before taking over from John Toshack on a temporary basis so has presumably seen the seventeen year-old play before for Wales U19’s.

The second-year Academy scholar is one of only two new first-time call-ups, the other being Swansea City’s young ‘keeper, David Cornell.

First team Hornet’s stopper Scott Loach has been included in England U21 party whilst Stephen McGinn is once again called up by Scotland’s U21’s.

Finally, Academy scholar Adam Thompson has been called up by Northern Ireland’s U19’s to face Germany and Switzerland.

Congratulations to all the international Goldenboys.
