According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Watford have offered the better deal to Juventus for goalkeeper Neto but the Brazilian would prefer to join Valencia.

Neto, previously touted as a potential Watford option as competition for Heurelho Gomes, in fact the long-term successor to his countryman, has seen interest from the Hornets result in an ?8m bid and ?2m in bonuses, which was deemed acceptable to Italian champions Juventus.

However, Valencia, apparently offering ?5m for Neto plus bonuses of ?2m, is the club the keeper wants to join from Juventus, despite the Bianconeri favouring, understandably, the better bid.

This was also covered by the Hertfordshire Mercury, going on to report that another Watford target, George Friend, has told Middlesbrough he wants to leave the Riverside Stadium following Boro’s relegation from the Premier League.

Watford are ‘waiting in the wings’ to sign the full back for £8m.
