Watford`s Ben Foster has been called into the England squad for the European Championship qualifiers against Andorra and Macedonia next month.

New boss Steve McLaren – who faces his first competitive fixtures in charge of the national side when the Three Lions entertain Andorra at Old Trafford on September 2 and then play FYR Macedonia in Skopje on September 7 – has included Foster for his second successive squad.

The on-loan Manchester United ‘keeper has been dubbed as ‘England`s Number One` by the Vicarage Road faithful and has beat off fierce competition for one of the three goalkeeping berths from the likes of David James, Robert Green and Scott Carson.

The 23-year-old is yet to make his England debut, but it`s surely only a matter of time.

Meanwhile, forward Tamas Priskin has been selected for the Hungary Under-21 squad to face Russia in a European Championship qualifier in Budapest on September 6.
