It hasn’t been officially confirmed but former Southend, Tottenham and Crystal Palace defender Dean Austin isn’t likely to remain as part of new boss Walter Mazzarri’s coaching team.

Slavisa Jokanovic initially brought the 46-year-old to Vicarage Road in January last year with him remaining as part of the coaching team even after his departure with him remaining to be a key part of Quique Sanchez Flores’ set up.

With Flores departing last month Austin isn’t going to stay as part of a third set up.

According to Sky Sports sources Mazzarri will be appointing his own coaching staff when he officially begins work at the start of next month.

This needs to be confirmed by the club before we know it’s definitely the case but it looks as though Austin’s time with Watford is up with the part he’s played in our rise to the Premier League and FA Cup semi-final can’t be underestimated can it.
