Manager Quique Sanchez Flores has said that he was especially thrilled with Watford’s showing in the first 45 minutes in today’s victory over Sunderland.
Taking a one nil win on Watford’s travels to the Stadium of Light, courtesy of an (other) Odion Ighalo strike, early on in the fourth minute of the game, Flores was pleased to see the side dominate the larger share of possession and whilst chances on goal may have been roughly level on the day, Watford dominated with attempts actually on target and he knew the margin of victory could’ve been greater with a bit more composure in the final third.
He wasn’t going to sniff at a clean sheet added to the tally though.
Describing the first half performance as ‘amazing’ he explained.
Speaking more about the hard fought nature of the second half to see the game out with all three points, he also said.
