With speculation linking Watford with a move for defender Calum Chambers this summer, Arsenal have apparently dismissed those suggestions.

Chambers had been linked with a move back to Southampton, most likely on a loan deal for the coming 2016/17 campaign, but in recent days Watford also emerged as a potential destination for a loan spell for the England international who Arsene Wenger signed for £16million two years ago.

He fell down the pecking order last year though and only took in 50 minutes of Premier League action so a move is expected.

21 year old Chambers is quoted by various media as saying.

‘For me, I just want to play games, so, yeah, that’s it for me. But at the moment I am not thinking too much about next season, I just want to go and enjoy my summer. Then we’ll get back at it soon.’

The reports do suggest ‘that’s it for me’ is more of a reference to next season, rather than drawing a line on his long term Arsenal future, but how that morphs into Arsenal themselves dismissing speculation linking him with us is beyond me, as there isn’t a single mention of a source close to the club.
