Watford boss Aidy Boothroyd has today admitted that despite grand aspirations to be a top 10 Premier League club by 2010, the Hornets are still a ‘selling club` and it`s something he “has to accept”!

The Championship promotion contenders may well have flexed their financial biceps earlier in the season with the record purchase of Nathan ‘Duke` Ellington for £3.5m but the sales of Ashley Young, Hameur Bouazza and the u-turn on a decision to sellMarlon King have now pulled in just short of £20m.

Boothroyd, who declared that Marlon King made all the running to leave Vicarage Road and join the Championship-bound troops at Craven Cottage, told the local hacks down at the Watford Observer “I’m lucky that the board ask me what I think but we are a selling club.”

He added “It’s not a nice situation and not something I am particularly happy about but, because I am the manager of Watford, it’s one of those things I have to accept”.

Well, at least he`s honest.
