Watford`s Under-18s got back to winning ways in the best fashion possible, putting seven past Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

The young Hornets were beaten 2-1 by Peterborough United six days previously but responded in impressive fashion to thump the Daggers and move second in the Youth Alliance South East Division.

There were braces for strikers Alex Jakubiak and Dennon Lewis, with Ollie Cox, Ryan Hope and Mahlondo Martin all chipping in too.

Speaking to the official site afterwards, coach Dave Hughes praised his side for their commitment to attack: “They can be delighted with the way they were relentless in their search. They didn`t give up – when they got the fourth they were after a fifth, then they got the fifth and were chasing a sixth, and once they got the sixth they kept going for the seventh.”

The Under-18s are next in action on Saturday morning as they travel to Portsmouth in the Youth Alliance Cup Group 5 fixture.

Watford: McCorkell; Young, Hall, Doherty; Barnum-Bobb, Cox, Hope (c), Dillon, Kyprianou; Jakubiak & Lewis.

Subs: Cumberbatch, Bawling, Westlake, Otudeko & Martin.
